Is the life insurance I get through work enough to protect my family?
Answer: That’s a hard question to answer without knowing what your needs nd goals are. You would need someone to go through those things and come up with a number that makes sense to you. A very important thing to know is if you were to leave that employer for whatever reason and that could be your choice or something completely out of your control, but it’s important to know if you can take that coverage with you and many times you can’t and if you couldn’t would you be able to qualify for it on your own if you had to go through underwriting? There isn’t a simple yes or no answer to your question. You should get with an agent and walk through all those things.
How do life insurance agents get paid, and does using one cost me more?
Answer: Most life insurance agents are paid commission on sales and does not cost you more to use one. Insurance consultants can charge for advise but agents should only get paid for the sale and the insurance companies pay that commission to the agent
