Life insurance is regulated at the state level, which means available products, rates, and policy features can differ depending on where you live. Your occupation, lifestyle, travel, and certain activities may also affect how an insurance company evaluates your risk.
My advice is simple: don’t assume that one company or one quote represents the entire market.
If you want to reduce your cost, apply while you’re younger and healthier, avoid tobacco and nicotine, maintain a healthy weight, and manage things like blood pressure, cholesterol, and chronic health conditions.
Most importantly, shop the market. Insurance companies don’t all underwrite people the same way. A health condition that results in a higher premium with one carrier may be viewed more favorably by another.
That’s where working with an experienced independent agent matters. We can compare carriers and underwriting guidelines to find coverage that fits both your needs and your budget.
