How much does life insurance cost for a 30 year old?

Answered by 6 licensed agents

For a healthy, non-smoking 30-year-old, life insurance can cost as little as $15–$35 per month for a $500,000, 20-year term policy, though premiums vary based on health, gender, coverage amount, and the insurer. Permanent life insurance costs more but provides lifelong coverage and can build cash value.

Prices for a 30-year-old consumer can vary widely. Term insurance is less expensive but only pays if you pass during that term (10, 20, or 30 years) Whole life products are more expensive because they pay a guaranteed death benefit when the owner passes. Whole life policies have a growing "cash" value and depending on the company additional dividends may be paid into the policy and depending on the type of policy the death benefit can also grow. So-the first question is always, how much do I need and what's the purpose of the life insurance.

The younger you get life insurance, the less it costs. The reason I can not give you and exact number is because there are many factors that go into your rate such as smoking, health diagnosis, height/weight, ect. This is why you work with an agent that has many companies to work with.

For a healthy, non-smoking 30-year-old, a standard 20-year term life insurance policy with a $500,000 payout costs an average of $23 per month for women and $30 per month for men. However if you are interested in a Whole Life permanent plan you can a much smaller face amount policy ranging from 10-25,000 which will cost you more but it will be permanent for a lifetime and does not end like a term policy.

A person needs to be pre-qualified first to answer this question. There are a number of variables. Such as age, height and weight, medications, health conditions, and the type of life insurance requested.
