What happens to my life insurance policy if I move to another state or country?

Nothing happens to it really, your policy stays in force no matter where you move, life insurance isn't tied to a state like your driver's license is. Where it gets tricky is if you move overseas long term, some insurers restrict or exclude coverage for extended time outside the US or in certain high risk countries, so worth checking your policy wording before you go. Nothing happens to it. Once you purchase it in your state, it goes with you to other states. If you die there, your life insurance policy will pay. You don’t have to die in the state your policy was written in.

Just be sure to let your beneficiaries know they are the beneficiary.
