Do life insurance agents need their own website, and what should be on it?

Answered by 4 licensed agents

I don't have one, its not really necessary for me. I just simply talk things through and earn the business, then ask for referrals. I think for life insurance unlike health insurance a website is okay but doesn't really give you a leg up in my opinion.

Websites in todays world help to add credibility to an agent. If an agent is willing to take the time and spend the money on a website they are probably serious about the business.

As far as what should be on a website, that is different for everyone. Some websites have every little bit of information on the subject and others hit the high points.

It would be smart for an agent to have a personal website, simply because so many consumers look online for insurance information.

Obviously, the site should include all your contact information, what carrier or carriers you work with and your social media links. If the company you represent requires you to use the site they provide, try to customize and personalize it as much their compliance rules allow.

As much as you can, tell the viewer more about who you are and why you sell life insurance.

Totally up to the agent. Some companies provide one for the agent and others don't. It's beneficial if an agent does have one.
