How do I choose the right type of life insurance for my situation?

Answered by 6 licensed agents

Every situation is going to be different from the actual dollar amount needed to health. First it is always best to work with someone with experience at least 3-5 years. Also best to work with someone who is asking questions and not just spitting numbers out there.

Start with four questions:

✅ How much coverage do you need?

✅ How long will you need it?

✅ What can you comfortably afford?

✅ Do you want temporary protection, permanent coverage, or both?

**Term life** is usually best for affordable, temporary protection.

**Permanent life insurance** may fit lifelong needs, final expenses, or legacy planning.

The right policy is the one that protects your family without straining your budget.

To choose the right life insurance, match term life (affordable, temporary coverage for a set number of years) to milestones like young children or a mortgage, or choose permanent life (lifelong coverage with cash value) if you need lifetime protection or estate planning.

The right type of life insurance depends on what you're trying to accomplish, not just your age or income.

A good agent should first understand your goals before recommending a policy.
