Can you have multiple life insurance policies from different companies?

Absolutely you can have multiple policies from different companies. However keep in mind depending on the income life insurance companies will cap the amount of life insurance a person can have on average 20X the income amount. Going beyond that requires more intensive and financial underwriting.

Absolutely you can have multiple policies from different companies. When you are applying the carriers will normally ask if you have current policies. They will usually limit the amount of insurance in total you can have based on age income, needs, who has insurable interest, etc. The limits are usually something like the following;

Under 40: up to 25–30× annual earned income

41–50: up to 20× annual earned income

51–60: up to 10–15× annual earned income

61–65: up to 10× annual earned income

66–70: up to 5× annual earned income

Over 70: evaluated individually

Yes, I've sold seven policies to one woman who wanted $200,000 of Whole Life coverage. I couldn't place all of the coverage into a single policy because of her age and the carrier's maximum coverage limits.

There are also other situations where clients own multiple policies. As their financial circumstances evolve and their wealth and protection needs grow, it often makes sense to add additional coverage over time rather than relying on a single policy.

Yes, you can absolutely have multiple life insurance policies with different companies.

When you apply for a new life insurance policy, one of the questiions asks if you have or are you going to replace. You must disclose all active life policies. Companies check to see if you are over insured as well.

You can have more than one policy. Some companies do have limits on how much but one way to get around that is to add several types of policies- IUL. WL. TERM plus Cancer, Chronic, Accidental, Hospital Indemnity-LTC etc all are types of plans available. So Stack!! You can have what is affordable!

Yes, you can have multiple insurance policies because every policy may serve a different purpose. Example a final expense policy (whole life), or a mortgage protection policy (term).

Yes, you can.

However, your life insurance application will always ask which other companies you currently have life insurance with! The insurance companies like to make sure you're not over-insured.
