Can a life insurance agent also help me with health insurance?

Answered by 6 licensed agents

In Texas, a person with a General Lines – Life, Accident, Health and HMO license can sell both life insurance and health insurance under the same license. Texas Department of Insurance specifically describes this license as allowing an agent to sell life and health insurance, including annuities.

It depends. States issue separate licenses for life insurance and health insurance. If your agent is licensed and appointed to sell health insurance, then they can. If you have a life agent you like, ask them if they can also assist with health coverage.

Absolutely—as long as your life insurance agent is also health licensed and properly certified, they can handle that for you.

That’s one of the benefits of working with a broker like myself. I can handle multiple lines of business, so you don’t have to bounce around between different agents.

Yes they can, but ONLY if they also have their health insurance license. Most agents have both, but not all of them.

Yes, if they have the Health endorsement on their license and if they are certify and appointed with the Health Insurance carriers. Along with being licensed in that respected state.
